Fast & easy way to produce a very sharp edge on blades. Use the guide to gring the basic bevel angle for the tool. On a fine stone, hone a micro bevel at a slightly different angle, set by turning the guide setting knob. First & secondary bevel is sorted without resetting the tool in the giude. Guide holds blades up to 60mm wide/16mm thick & in combination with the square & angle jig, can handle sharpening skew blades & irons. Our angle jig has the five angles (15, 20, 25, 30 & 35), just loosen the brass bolt & select. The positive positioning action squares the blade in the guide as you set it. The bed of the guide has parallel lines to help allign narrow chisels or square up blades that have become skewed. The roller on the guide is mounted on a spring-loaded adjustable cam shaft, so you can set the roller at any one of three different heights where it locks in position, this combination gives 25 preset angles.
