The Veritas Jeweller's Vise avoids both these problems. The 1/2" wide anodized aluminum jaws securely hold small parts up to 3/8" thick. One jaw has a horizontal V-notch and the other a vertical notch so that round parts can be securely held in either orientation by tightening the 1/2" brass knob. The 2-3/4" long by 1" diameter wooden handle allows a secure, comfortable grip, unlike the small handles that many similar vises have. Overall length 5-1/2", weighs only 2 oz. The optional 5" long steel post screws into the bottom of the vise, replacing the original handle. The two flats at the post bottom let you clamp it in any vise without marring the shaft, leaving both hands free for the delicate task at hand. It is also sized to mount directly into our Veritas® Carver's Vise, giving you a jeweller's vise with the dexterity of our carver's vise.
